'Iolani Palace is located in downtown Honolulu, Hawaii in the Capitol District on the corner of King Street and Richards Street. Vehicular entry is via Likelike Mall, which is to the left off of King Street, between the Palace and the Hawai'i State Library. (See map below)

On Kuhio Avenue heading away from Diamond Head, board the "#2 School Street-Middle Street" or "#13 Liliha-Puunui Avenue" bus. Ride to the stop at Hotel and Alakea streets. From there, walk back towards Waikiki about half a block to the Palace grounds.
Returning to Waikiki:
From the Palace grounds, walk across King Street to the bus stop at the corner of King and Punchbowl Streets. Take the "#2 Waikiki-Kapiolani Park," "#13 Waikiki-Campbell Avenue" or "Route B - City Express Waikiki!" toward Waikiki. Alternatively, you may also take the #19, #20 or "#42 Waikiki Beach and Hotels" buses from the same stop. Buses run about 10 minutes apart.

There is limited metered parking on 'Iolani Palace grounds and nearby streets. Parking meters take only quarters with a rate of 25cents/15minutes. Be aware that street parking may be limited to certain lengths of time and prohibited during morning and afternoon rush hours. Please read posted signs carefully.
As an alternative, there is a private parking garage at Ali'i Place (1099 Alakea Street). The cost of parking is $3 for the first two hours and $1.50 for each additional half-hour. Entrance to the Ali'i parking garage is on the right side of Alakea Street between the King Street and Hotel Street. Alakea is a one-way Mauka (mountain) bound street.
