The Palace Shop - Ornaments
Each year, The Palace Shop presents a new ornament inspired by a unique and original `Iolani Palace motif. By popular demand a limited number of ornaments from prior years has also been made available. All ornaments are 24k gold electroplate on solid brass and presented in a gift box with informational insert.

2008 Crown Ornament
The 23rd in our series of ornaments was created in honor of the 125th anniversary of the coronation of King Kalakaua and Queen Kapiolani. This brass ornament is gold-electroplated and enhanced with the burgundy of the crown's velvet interior.

Coronation Pavilion Ornament
On February 12, 1883, King Kalakaua and Queen Kapiolani were crowned in a pavilion built for the occassion. Our three-dimensional representation of that building is lacquered brass, 2.5" tall, and packaged in a see-through display box. Limited quantities.

1999 Ornament - Scrolled Garland. This ornament is taken from the scrolled garland that frames the mirrored sconces on the `Iolani Palace Lanai. On the Lanai, the mirrors serve to enhance the electric lights.

1998 Ornament - Coronation Pavilion. Intricate latticework, graceful balusters and even the finial on the domed roof of the Coronation Pavilion are reproduced in this ornament. Located on the `Iolani Palace grounds, this structure was used for King Kalakaua's coronation in 1886.

1991 Ornament - Quatrafoil. The quatrefoil design of the 1991 Christmas ornament is a common Victorian motif that appears on the gilded Throne Room furnishings that were custom-made by the A.H. Davenport Co. of Boston.

1990 Ornament - Pulo`ulo`u. The 1990 Christmas ornament is derived from the pulo`ulo`u design on the railing of the second floor lanai of `Iolani Palace. The pulo`ulo`u dates from ancient times when it served as a symbol of kapu.
